What is the Sports Forum
The Sports Forum is supported by Littlehampton Town Council and aims to act as an advisory, consultative and co-ordinating body with Sport England, Sussex County Sport Partnership, sports clubs, schools, and other interested organisations in the town. The Sports Forum is made up of representatives from local clubs and sports providers and it offers members the opportunity to share information and express their views on current sporting issues. Notes of its meetings are included within the Agenda of the following Community Resources Committee.
How do I join?
The Forum is open to the public and there are no restrictions to the number of members. New members are always welcome. Please email to express your interest in joining.

The Sports Forum is also responsible for the annual Sports Awards. Clubs, coaches and family members of sportspeople are given the opportunity to nominate them for these awards.
Nominations for 2025 are open from Friday 31st January till Monday 10th March. You can make nominations at www.littlehampton-tc.gov.uk/sports-awards
The Sports Awards will be presented at the Annual Town Meeting on Thursday 24 April at 6pm, alongside the Merit Awards. This places all of the town’s annual awards under the same banner whilst giving local sports a much wider audience and greater exposure.

The Selection Panel for 2025 is as follows:
Councillor Freddie Tandy (Chair of the Community Resources Committee)
Councillor Sean Lee (Chair of the Sports Forum and Littlehampton Mayor)
Hugh Milner (Secretary of the Littlehampton Sportsfield Management Committee)
Alan Pyant (Chair of Littlehampton Cricket Club)
Derek Fish (Former Secretary of Littlehampton Badminton and Squash Club)
Tyndall Jones (Former Sports Goods Retailer)
These are a range of Financial Awards focused on those either already achieving, or who have the potential to achieve, sporting excellence. Applications open once a year and are available for local residents.
The Sports Excellence Grants for 2024 were shared between two sportspeople: Aiyla Warner and Grace Winchester, both for gymnastics. This funding will enable them to continue progressing in their sport and achieve their goals. You can read more here.
