Southfields Jubilee Centre

21 August Update -
Reopening of Southfields Jubilee Centre

We are pleased to announce that the Town Council’s Community Centre at Southfields has begun to welcome back local groups. We have worked with several regular hirers on a strategy to implement a phased reopening of the centre safely in line with Covid-19 government guidance. Initially, we have had to reduce the number of sessions and numbers that can use the Centre and as the restrictions lift we will be looking to return to a full reopening.

During the lockdown we deep cleaned and carried out essential maintenance and to keep all visitors and staff safe several new measures have been introduced which include:

  • All hirers must supply Risk Assessments

  • Amended opening hours and days

  • Hand sanitiser on entry and exit

  • Social distancing signage

  • Cleaning in between group visits

  • Face coverings must be worn whilst using the centre

Activities returning to the Centre include Sama Karate, American Kickboxing and the Dairy Arts Drop In, with more planning to return in September. The popular Pointe Rocks Holiday Activities are also taking place.

If you or someone you know is interested in using the Centre and they meet the above requirements do get in touch. We offer very competitive rates and special rates for local groups.  Please contact the main office for more information.

You can read the Government's guidance on community facilities here.

The Centre provides two halls, a perfect space for exhibitions, meetings, social events, recreational activities, education/training, workshops and seminars.

The space can be used by all members of the community from pre-school groups through to social activities for the elderly or hired by the public, private and voluntary sector.

There is a kitchen area that can service a variety of events within the building and can be used as a training room for adult education courses. There is also an inner courtyard which provides an outdoor space.

A large free car park is located to the side of the Centre.

Large Hall

Measuring 16.5 metres by 9m, this hall is ideal for larger functions. Current sessions held here include New Age Kurling and Kickboxing. It is an ideal size for indoor markets and fitness classes.
