Restored Clock above L.Guess Littlehampton

Time Flies

A clock which has kept time in Littlehampton’s High Street for the past two decades has been revamped. The clock, above L. Guess Jewellers, includes the Town’s Progress Shield and was recently renovated by local business Bay Studio.

The clock was first installed on 15th December 1995 as a result of a partnership between Littlehampton Town Council and L. Guess Jewellers when the business moved from 67 High Street to its current location.

Speaking about the clock Simon Guess, shop owner, said: “It is fascinating seeing how many people use the clock on a daily basis, it is a great asset to the High Street.”

Littlehampton Town Council’s Chair of Policy and Finance, Councillor Dr James Walsh said: “Giving the clock a much-needed facelift was essential for its preservation and Bay Studio has done a tremendous job repainting the accompanying Progress Shield. It has been ticking for 23 years already and here’s hoping it will continue to do so for many years to come.”
