Join Us in Shaping Littlehampton’s Future 

Littlehampton Town Council is embarking on an exciting period of growth and improvement. In January 2026, the Council agreed a revised staffing structure designed to strengthen our organisation, increase our capacity and enhance the services we deliver to the community. 

As our responsibilities and ambitions continue to expand, we are creating new roles that will help us deliver our current priorities and support emerging projects and strategies. These roles will play a vital part in increasing our resilience, improving compliance, and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community. 

All existing staff have been fully incorporated into the new structure. The vacancies now being advertised are newly created positions that will help us build stronger services across three key areas: 

Finance and Service Delivery 

Expanding capacity to manage all Council property and assets within one dedicated service area, ensuring they are safe, accessible, cost-effective and aligned with community needs. Strengthening our financial management and compliance is a central priority. 

Community Engagement and Development 

Building on our outreach, communications and partnerships, and supporting the growing range of grants and funding agreements. These roles will help ensure local initiatives deliver meaningful and measurable benefits for residents and businesses. 

Corporate Services and Governance 

Supporting the organisation from within by strengthening HR, governance and organisational development. These posts will also provide project support across the Council, helping to drive innovation and improve performance. 

This revised structure was shaped through a thorough assessment and consultation process, with constructive input from Councillors and Officers. The result is a future-ready organisation designed to meet both current demands and the potential opportunities ahead, including changes that may arise from the Local Government Review.
