Hundreds of families came out to Littlehampton High Street for free summer activities every Wednesday this August.

Visitors enjoyed a Victorian themed day in partnership with Littlehampton Museum, a Dragon day with live dragon meet and greet and storytelling, an Anime and Street event with graffiti, D&D and anime drawing workshops, and an Animal finale with giant bees and the Partysarus, a trained dinosaur.

The event days also had appearances from cosplayers portraying Merida, Rumi and Spider-Man, as well as a visit from the Mayor of Littlehampton. Businesses supported the events and got involved with art workshops with Daina’s Art Studio, dragon egg bath bomb painting with Magpies and Butterflies, Dungeons and Dragons at Arcade Bookshop and art sessions at Creative Heart.

For all event days, Littlehampton Library got involved with storytellers and drop-in graphic novels, and the Littlehampton Badminton and Squash Club brought table tennis and pickleball whilst the Littlehampton District Lions Club offered axe-throwing and their ever popular book-stall.

Speaking about the summer programme of High Street events, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Freddie Tandy said: ""It's always fantastic to see the High Street and Town Centre bustling with people, and we know the difference these free family events bring through increased footfall and a positive atmosphere. The support from local businesses and organisations has really showcased the best that Littlehampton can offer to visitors and residents alike.”
