£25,000 in grants is available for local organisations
Littlehampton Town Council's annual Grant Aid programme has launched and not-for-profit groups and charities can now register their interest in applying for support.
Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Freddie Tandy, said: “Organisations offering services to the Littlehampton community may qualify for a grant. This includes providing cultural enrichment or engagement, offering advice and support on social issues, facilitating access to sports or arts activities, and collaborating with youth groups. If any of these resonate with your organisation, we invite you to express your interest! We warmly welcome both new organisations and those we have previously supported.”
The scheme, which has been revised has been split into three steps with the first step being a pre-registration where groups express their interest in applying for a grant. After the closing date, Monday 23 February, groups will be allocated a ‘funding tier’ which will inform the maximum amount for which they can apply during the application period which starts in March.
In 2025 the Council awarded a total of £24,750 to 47 groups for a variety of resources and services including MenWalkTalk who received £700 for new uniforms, First Aid kits and tote bags. Speaking about how the funding helped them, Bay Woodcock from MenWalkTalk said: “We're so grateful to Littlehampton Town Council for supporting MenWalkTalk as part of their grant aid initiative. The funding allowed us to purchase new uniforms for our volunteers and tote bags, helping us to raise more awareness in the local community both for further support and of our walks for those who need us. Thank you for your support."
If you're part of a voluntary group seeking funding, please review the criteria available online and register your interest as soon as possible. The registration window is open until Monday 23 February at 16:30. Applications can be made online via the Town Council’s website www.littlehampton-tc.gov.uk/grant-aid.
