Open Air Cinema Screen on the Green returns to Littlehampton

Screen on The Green Grease - 2026

Littlehampton Town Council is delighted to announce that Screen on the Green will return to the Seafront Green on Saturday 15 August 2026. The event is free to attend and open to all.

This year’s film, as chosen by Littlehampton residents, is Grease. The evening begins at 18:00 with a chance to meet Sandy and Rizzo, see some classic cars and take part in a singalong! The film will then start at 20:30 and run until late.

Bring blankets and a picnic and be sure to come down in your best fancy dress for a competition judged by the Mayor of Littlehampton and the Principal of Rydell High School!

In addition to the seafront concessions, on site there will be delicious, loaded fries from Street Food Revolution, your favourite cinema snacks including popcorn and candy floss, and some refreshing hot drinks.

This year’s event coincides with the Littlehampton Miniature Railway Anniversary Steam Gala and Littlehampton Waterfront Festival, making it an ideal opportunity to come down to Littlehampton and make a whole day of it!

Speaking ahead of the event, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Freddie Tandy, said: "Our Screen on the Green event is always a wonderful community evening which is much anticipated by residents and visitors alike. We’re really delighted this year’s event is taking place alongside other great community events earlier in the day. And with the fantastic West Green also close-by, it’s going to be an electrifyin’ evening!”

Grease is a PG certificate film in the UK and is suitable for all. Children are welcome, but the late finishing time may mean that it’s more suitable for older children.

Please note: this event is weather dependent. Follow the council’s social media channels for updates.
