Littlehampton Town Council awards £23,637 to local groups
This year Littlehampton Town Council supported forty-three local organisations through its annual Grant Aid scheme.
Assisting a wide range of local services and community activities, a total pot of £23,637 was shared amongst the beneficiaries. Among the recipients this year was The Juno Project, a local charity delivering empowerment and mentorship programmes to young women and girls, who experience anxiety, low self-esteem or social isolation. They received £830 towards hosting Craft and Chat Summer sessions.
The charity’s CEO, Sanchia Ryan expressed: “The Juno Project is delighted to receive Littlehampton Town Council funding to support our two-day Summer Craft and Chat programme for 10 to 13 year-old girls in Littlehampton. This funding will enable us to provide a safe, welcoming space where young people can connect with peers, express themselves creatively, and build confidence through hands-on craft activities and supportive conversation. .”
Other recipients include Arun Pickleball Club towards hire for open day festivals, Little Lights to purchase new toys and resources, Friends of Mewsbrook Park for a Children’s Art Trail and many more.
Speaking of the scheme, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Freddie Tandy, said: “The Town Council’s Grant Aid initiative plays a vital role for our communities each year. We see first-hand the positive impact the funding has on the local community and how organisations use it to provide lifechanging support and lasting differences to residents. The grants will help local groups buy necessary equipment, organise workshops and sessions that will benefit the community.”
