Littlehampton to mark Remembrance Sunday with parade and service
Littlehampton will come together to commemorate those who have served and died in conflict at the town’s annual Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service on Sunday 8 November.
The parade will muster along the High Street at 10:30 and march off at 10:45. A short service including the laying of the wreaths and two minutes’ silence will be held at the war memorial at 11:00. The parade will then move to St Mary’s Church, where another service will take place.
Veterans are invited to march in the parade. Parade orders are available by calling 01903 732063, emailing events@littlehampton-tc.gov.uk or visiting reception at the Manor House, Church Street.
Please note that roads will be closed throughout the parade and service (10:30 to 11:45). Some parts of Arcade Road, New Road, Maltravers Road, Beach Road, St Catherine’s Road, Church Approach, High Street and East Street will be affected. For more details, check the road closure map on the one.network website.
Speaking about the event, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Freddie Tandy, said: ”Every year, the Littlehampton community shows a remarkable commitment to remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I look forward to veterans, uniformed groups and residents of all ages coming together to remember, honour and pay tribute to everyone who has suffered or lost their life as a result of war.”
