Have your say on the future of Littlehampton Museum!
Littlehampton Museum is celebrating a major collections milestone while inviting the community to have its say on the Museum’s future.
The 45,000th record has now been documented as part of an ongoing project to digitally record the collection, marking a significant achievement in work that has been taking place behind the scenes since 2018. Alongside the milestone, an Annual Visitor Survey is being launched, giving visitors and the wider community an opportunity to share their views.
As part of the Museum’s newest project, Transforming Littlehampton Museum, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the survey will help build a better understanding of who visits, how visible the Museum is to the public, what visitors enjoy and where improvements could be made. The feedback will contribute to the wider evaluation of he project, helping to strengthen practices and inform future development.
By completing the questionnaire, you can enter a prize draw to win a £100 supermarket voucher. The questionnaire should take less than 10 minutes to complete, which you can do by visiting https://bit.ly/4hvLz3B
Speaking about the milestone, Transforming Littlehampton Museum Project Officer, Nathan Ireland, said: “We estimate we have around 50,000 items in our collection, so this milestone is a huge step closer to finishing this project. We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers for their dedication and hard work, and would like to thank them for all they do within the Museum, both in general and for our Documentation Project.
Councillor Freddie Tandy, Chair of Littlehampton Town Council’s Community Resources Committee said: “Littlehampton Museum belongs to our community, so its important they have their say on what the Museum looks like and how it can better accommodate their needs and wants.”
