Welcome Back Fund Christmas events

Eat, shop and play in Littlehampton – that’s the message from Littlehampton Town as they set about making up for the Christmas COVID stole last year. Serving up a fantasia of festive fun activities from Friday 19th November.

The Town Council has been working with the Littlehampton Trader’s Partnership, Wick Action Group and Arun District Council on the delivery of free festive activities funded by the ‘Welcome Back Fund’.

Saturday 20 November – Wick’s Community Christmas

5-7pm, Wick Parade and Wick Hall

Organised by the Wick Action Group, the event will have many exciting free activities centred around the switching on of the Christmas Tree. Children will be delighted to meet Father Christmas who will be stopping by to give free presents and to get up and close to Elsa and Olaf who are visiting from Arendelle. Make a beautiful lantern to place under the tree (Wick Hall, 5-6pm, bring a jar), enjoy festive food, listen to carol singing and support local businesses.

Saturday 27 November – Festive Artisan Market

11-3pm, Littlehampton High Street

Organised by LOCA, expect quality gift stalls, music, free face painting (under 12s) and fun walkabout acts.

Saturday 4 December – Festive Children’s Entertainment

11-3pm, Littlehampton High Street

Everyone will be fired up and ready to take to the sky with the fun free activities for youngsters including themed inflatables, teacup ride, magic show (11:30), live performance from local acoustic artist Joel Peter (1-2:45pm) and a very special visit from Paw Patrol legends Skye and Marshal (1-2:30pm). Why not visit one of the unique gift shops or grab something to eat from one of the many places selling local produce?

Saturday 11 December – Festive Children’s Entertainment

11-3pm, Littlehampton High Street

You will be on your way to enjoy fun free activities including themed inflatables, a teacup ride, magic show (11:30), live performance from local artist Jamie B (1-2:45pm) and to meet PJ Masks superheroes Catboy and Owlette (1-2:30pm).

The Chair of the Policy and Finance Committee, Councillor Dr James Walsh KStJ, said: “I am delighted that the Town Council have been able to work together with local groups to use funding from the Government’s Welcome Back Fund to create a programme of free festive events for the whole community to enjoy. Our aim is to support the safe return to shopping areas and help bring visitors to our Town throughout the festive period. It has been a challenging couple of years and these fun activities are a way to bring positivity to our community. Make sure you put these events in your diary and remember to stay local and shop local this Christmas.”
