Virtual Sandcastle Competition

For the safety of our volunteers, contestants, and spectators Littlehampton Town Council’s annual Sandcastle Competition is going virtual for the first time. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and under and it couldn’t be simpler to enter!

Build a sandcastle or sand sculpture at home or on the beach this Summer between 20th July and 28th August and submit a photo of your build to enter to win. We will be awarding prizes to the winner and two runner ups courtesy of Harbour Park. To make a sandcastle at home using fake sand all you have to do is mix 8 cups of flour with 1 cup of baby oil.

Email your entries along with the first name and age of the child to events@littlehampton-tc.gov.uk by Friday 28th August. You can either scan in your entry or take a photo of your picture using your phone or tablet. Full terms and conditions can be found at here. The winner will be selected by Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper. All the entries will be published on the Visit Littlehampton Facebook page once the competition has ended.

So, get your thinking caps on and see if you can create a sandcastle fit for a king or queen!

The Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper said: “Our annual Sandcastle Competition is one of the best free family events out there and although this is the first time we will be doing it virtually, we hope that Littlehampton residents will get creative and enjoy taking part. We hope to see you all back on the beach for the event next year.’’
