VE Day – Virtual Events at Littlehampton Museum 8-10th May, 2020

To mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the War in Europe Littlehampton Museum has prepared a selection of virtual events, all available on Facebook and on the Museum Website

8th May – Photographic Slideshow

A brand new slideshow of photographs from the Museum’s archive, the Littlehampton Gazette, and the Bygone Littlehampton Facebook group. This 5 minute video is packed with evocative images of street parties and celebrations across the town in 1945.

9th May – Virtual public talk

Join the Museum Curator, Charlotte Burford, as she explores the Museum’s World War Two archive and looks in detail at VE day images from Littlehampton. This narrated video is the Museum’s very first virtual lecture and will last about 30 minutes.

10th May – Online Exhibition

Head over to the Museum website to explore a fascinating new online exhibition, looking at Littlehampton during WWII as told through items and images from the archives.

Visit the website for more information as well as special craft activities.

“As so many celebrations have sadly had to be cancelled, it’s great to be able to still mark this very special occasion by sharing these fantastic resources online” says Cllr Billy Blanchard-Cooper, Chair of Littlehampton Town Council’s Community Resources Committee.
