Littlehampton Sports Forum (a group supported by Littlehampton Town Council) is seeking the help of local businesses.

Since 2005, the Sports Forum and the Town Council have held the Sports Awards Initiative designed to recognise the achievements of the Town’s sportspeople, as well as those who give up their time to work with sports teams and organisations locally. Anyone from junior to senior, team and individual as well as off-pitch heroes can be put forward for an award; ranging from Sportsperson of the Year to Sports Administrator of the Year.

Each category is sponsored by a different local business that benefit from widespread publicity, including acknowledgement on the Council’s Progress Newsletter that goes to 13,500 households, the Council’s website and social media outlets. The sponsors would also have their business name on the trophy and shield.

The Chair of the Sports Forum, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper said: “The current sponsorship packages have ended, and we are now seeking sponsors for four categories for the next five years. They are Sportsperson of the Year, Contribution to Youth Sports, Youth Sports Team of the Year and Coach of the Year. For a small investment of £125 for the five years, the sponsor would benefit from the marketing coverage mentioned and the funds would cover the cost of purchasing the trophies.”

The sponsor would also be invited to the Sports Awards ceremony held in October each year.
