A Littlehampton shopper is celebrating a £250 cash boost after winning the October Love Local Prize Draw, announced by Littlehampton Mayor Councillor David Chace.

Karin Ryk who lives in Littlehampton, was the lucky winner and she says, “I was so pleased to receive the call. It made my day! I do most of my shopping locally, including Christmas gifts and I think the Prize Draw is a fantastic idea for businesses.”

Love Local Prize Draw is a joint campaign between Arun District Council, Littlehampton Town Council and Littlehampton Traders Partnership to encourage people to shop locally – especially as businesses face another Coronavirus lockdown.

Combined November and December Prize Draw - £750 in prizes!

The planned monthly draws in November and December will now be combined due to the new lockdown announcement.

It means November and December draw cards will go into the same Prize Draw in December and one winner will receive £250 and the other will take home a whopping £500 top prize.

For a chance to win, shoppers will collect a sticker each time they spend £5 or more in participating shops, restaurants, hairdressers, cafes and other businesses.

Once shoppers have collected five stickers, their completed loyalty card is entered into the prize draw which will be made on 22nd December.

Littlehampton Town Mayor Councillor David Chace says it has never been more important to support Littlehampton’s many independent retailers and local businesses. “Another lockdown is the last thing our independent traders needed in the run up to Christmas.

“Combining the November and December prize draws will hopefully encourage more shoppers to do as much of their Christmas shopping locally as possible. The town centre is the heartbeat of Littlehampton and we all have the power to make a huge impact,” says Councillor Chace.

Shoppers can collect their Love Local Prize Draw card from 40 participating shops and leave their completed card at local collection points each month for a chance to win.
