Financial Grant Given to Future Stars

Sports Excellence Grants Winners 2020

Each year the Littlehampton Sports Forum in collaboration with Littlehampton Town Council opens up applications for the Sports Excellence Grants which provides financial support to Littlehampton-based sportspeople performing at a County standard or higher. The This year the Sports Forum awarded a total of £1,180 across 3 sportspeople to enable them to progress in their sport and achieve their goals.

This year’s beneficiaries are Ashton Netherwood, a talented young swimmer whose grant will assist with equipment and accommodation costs. Sophia Patroklou, a ballerina with big dreams. Sophia’s grant will assist with training costs and dance shoes. The third grant went to Isabel Moore, a national level shooter who hopes to one day compete as part of Team GB. Isabel’s grant will assist with equipment and associated costs.

This year’s applications were judged by the Sports Forum executive members including Chair of the Sports Forum Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper who said: “It is brilliant to see such a variety of sports Represented in this year’s application. It has been a difficult year for sports with many competitions being cancelled but our local sportspeople are determined as ever to succeed and fly the flag for Littlehampton at county, regional and national level.,  I am pleased  that together with the Sports Forum we can help  Littlehampton’s sports stars achieve their goals, congratulations to all our recipients.”
