Residents came out in masses for a day of outdoor fun as the sun came out on a warm September Saturday for the 17th Town Show and Family Fun Day at Rosemead Park.

Throughout the day there was a superb line up of performances on the Main stage with Pier Pressure playing classic 60s Ska and Rocksteady and Harry and the Hounds playing much loved blues and country classics.

Representing the remarkable local talent at the event  were the Arun Young Musicians, with some beautiful performances from their skilled young stars as were the award-winning Sussex Tornados who wowed everyone with their energetic tricks and dance moves.

Another highlight of the day was the ever-popular dog show. With dozens of beautiful pooches taking to the arena to see who could be crowned winner. This year there was a double winner with Archie a 7-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier taking first place in both the Most Handsome Dog and Best Rescue category. Prettiest Bitch was awarded to 16-month-old Rivera Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Husky; and Best Veteran was awarded to Benjie, a Cavalier Spaniel.

The Horticultural and Craft show organised by the Town Show Committee was packed with brilliant entries in every category - nearly 600 entries!   There was an outstanding exhibition of talent and dedication which included giant pumpkins one of which weighed an impressive 77kgs, delightful cakes, sweet smelling flowers and breath-taking photography.

Other entertainment included the Littlehampton Organisation of Community Arts offering people the chance to create some artwork, Arun Youth Project chill out zone and children’s inflatables. The bustling community marquee featured around 50 community stalls, giving residents of Littlehampton a chance to meet local community groups, take part in game and raffles and purchase some fabulous handmade items. Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper said: “The community marquee is such a brilliant part of the Town Show and Family Fun Day, it’s excellent to see all the hard-working groups and organisations in once place together and it creates a brilliant atmosphere! Thank you to everyone who attended the event and made it as successful as it was!”
