Littlehampton Town Council is delighted to announce a name has been picked for the new elf illumination, chosen from many entries, the elf is now called “Elfalina”.

The competition, sponsored by Sussex by the Sea, attracted many entries with the winning name being suggested by 8-year-old Blake Ortiz.

Blake had the honour of switching the Town’s Christmas lights with the Town Mayor, Councillor Tracey Baker on Friday 22nd November when the big Switch-on Event was held in the High Street. The Windmill Cinema gave Blake four tickets to use at the venue.

Speaking about the Town Council’s initiative, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, Chair of the Community Resources Committee said: “It was great seeing so many people participating in this competition and we are very excited to be giving Blake the honour to switch on Christmas in Littlehampton. Elfalina is joining a group of elves that will be projected onto buildings during the festive period so make sure you come out to meet her.”

Sussex artist Steve Carroll has once again created the elves and everyone is encouraged to take an ‘elfie selfie’ with their favourite elf, sharing their snaps on social media with #LAelfie.
