Vegetation clearance on the A259 in Littlehampton and Angmering, which was to have started on January 7, has been postponed. 

The essential preparation work will still go ahead as soon as possible and will clear the way for a major improvement scheme to widen around 2km of single-lane road to dual carriageway – reducing congestion and pollution. 

A West Sussex Highways spokesperson said: “We hope the delay, due to the late arrival of key contract information, will be a matter of a few weeks and we will update residents and stakeholders as soon as possible.”
