Screen on the Green 2018 presents The Greatest Showman

Record numbers flocked to Littlehampton seafront this weekend for a double dose of free outdoor cinema fun. Over 8000 people were in attendance on Friday night to enjoy the 2017 musical blockbuster, The Greatest Showman on a giant 40ft inflatable screen. Spectators were treated to performances from the hula hoop artist Lisa Sampson and Poi Passion before Mayor of Littlehampton Billy Blanchard-Cooper officially opened the event.

Saturday night may have been chilly but there was still a warm, family atmosphere on the East Green as the 2000 strong crowd settled in to watch adventure comedy, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The event, now in its fifth year, was sponsored by Dominos Pizza, who were there on both nights with their mobile pizza stand.

Cllr Ian Buckland, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, said “I’d like to thank all those who came along to support both events last weekend. Screen on the Green has become one of the biggest and most anticipated events in the Littlehampton events calendar and the support this year was exceptional. The event had a real inclusive feel about and shows what Littlehampton Town Council can do for its community.”

Tyndall Jones organised a collection for the Mayor’s Charity Arun Youth Project and raised £1,507.87 over the weekend.
