From Paper to Painting – Jo Dowers & David Webb

Saturday 10th January – Friday 6th March, 2015.

Jo Dowers and David Webb have both held successful solo shows at the Museum in the past, and have now decided to return with this special display which sees them exploring their environment through vibrant colour and expressive light.  The exhibition will also focus on the process of turning paper sketches into dramatic and evocative paintings.

David works largely in oils and mixed media while Jo favours acrylic and watercolour techniques.  Both artists take inspiration from the light and atmosphere of Littlehampton and enjoy living and working there. Jo explains; “We both share a common love of colour and an expressive way of painting, we felt that our work, although different in style, certainly complements each other”.

Jo will also be running our first ‘Meet the Artist’ workshops of 2015, where she will be sharing some of her watercolour skills and techniques in two practical sessions to be held on both Saturday 24th January and Saturday 7th February. The workshops are FREE and all equipment will be supplied.  There are a limited number of places available which can be booked by calling the Museum on 01903 738100.

Councillor Malcolm Belchamber MBE, Chair of Littlehampton Town Council’s Community Recourses Committee, comments; “It is great to see two such unique artists coming together at the Museum, it certainly proves to be a successful collaboration”.

The Museum is open Monday - Friday 9.00 - 4.30 Saturday 10:30 – 4:30
