Celebrating 125 years of Littlehampton Golf Club

Celebrating 125 years of Littlehampton Golf Club
Wednesday 7th January – Friday 6th March, 2015.
Written by past Club Captain Nicolas Wiltshire, the display explores how and why the Club came to be, and looks at its development over the past 125 years. Pop into the Museum before the 5th of March and learn all about which Littlehampton businessmen thought it high time Littlehampton had a club of its own, which local landowner handed over the site, which member of the Royal Family used to play there, and just how long it took for women to be allowed to become members in their own right!
The display is supported by a fascinating collection of images collated by another past Captain, Ian Wiseman, and also features vintage golfing equipment alongside rule books, scorecards and programmes dating back over 100 years.
Councillor Malcolm Belchamber MBE, Chair of Littlehampton Town Council’s Community Recourses Committee, comments; “A great look back over one of the town’s sporting institutions”.
The Museum is open Monday - Friday 9.00 - 4.30 Saturday 10:30 – 4:30
