Remembrance Sunday

The Littlehampton Remembrance Sunday parade and service will take place on Sunday 13 November.

The parade will muster adjacent to the Town Clock in the High Street at 10:30 and march off at 10:45. A short service including the laying of the wreaths and two minutes silence will be held at the war memorial at 11:00, the parade will then move to St Mary’s Church where another service will take place.

Veterans are welcome to march in the parade and can obtain a copy of the parade orders here, or alternatively, by calling 01903 732063 or e-mailing events@littlehampton-tc.gov.uk. Hard copies can be collected from the reception at the Manor House, Church Street.

Please note that road closures will be in operation on the following roads throughout the parade and service (10:30 till 11:15); Beach Road, Maltravers Road, St Catherine’s Road, East Street (junction with Church Street), Church Street, New Road. For the return parade Church Street will be closed from the Fitzalan Road roundabout to East Street between 11:50 and 12:30 with a short closure at the East Street crossing to allow the parade to pass into the High Street. 

Speaking about the event, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, said: “It is always touching to see our veterans, uniformed groups, and members of the public unite for the Littlehampton’s Remembrance Day parade and service. Our Remembrance Sunday event seems to grow each year and I urge you all to join us in remembering and honouring those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.”
