Holiday Activities Support

Grant Aid - Money Picture

Summer may seem far away during the grey skies of January, but Littlehampton Town Council would like to add a little sunshine by launching a grant scheme aimed at supporting local activity providers in running sessions over the summer holidays.

The funds aim to financially support organisations to provide sports or arts-based summer holiday activities which provide children and young people aged 8-17 years with the space to try something new. Last year the grants funded Tennis sessions, squash coaching and Chalk at the Pebbles as part of the Littlehampton LOVE Festival.

Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper said “This is an annual scheme which was previously known as SPACE Grants. Though the name changed it still offers a great opportunity for local clubs and groups to reach out to young people and encourage them to try something new. We hope to fund as many initiatives as we can to provide fun activities throughout the summer.”

There is £1,000 up for grabs and applications will be considered from groups based in Littlehampton or those that operate a service within the town.

The Town Council will help to promote the summer holiday sessions via its website and social media channels.

So if your group or club could give local children a chance to learn a new sport or get creative then please fill in a form online.

Applications are invited until Monday 2nd March 2020.
