Follow The Star for festive entertainment
Gather loved ones to enjoy the story of the first Christmas from an entirely different perspective told in the festive family movie ‘The Star’ being shown on Saturday 14th December in Wick Village Hall, organised by All Saints Church.
Embracing the festive spirit, the movie will be free and Morrisons will be spreading yuletide cheer to all the children watching with refreshments.
Doors will open at 3.15pm with the movie showing at 3.30pm. Be sure to get your tickets beforehand from the Wick Information Centre or by emailing your name and number of tickets required (maximum 5 per person) to firstname.lastname@example.org. All under 16-year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is a result of a partnership between All Saints Church, Morrisons and Littlehampton Town Council in response to the cancellation of the Wickmas Dickensian celebrations originally planned by Wick Village Traders.
Speaking about the partnership, All Saints Wick Vicar, Thomas Robson said: “When we heard that Wickmas was not going ahead we decided to step in to see what could be done to bring some form of festive celebration to Wick. We are grateful to Littlehampton Town Council for providing advice and funding and to Morrisons for donating refreshments.”
Town Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, Chair of the Community Resources Committee added: “The Council is delighted to be able to help the community put on an event for the whole family and as bit of movie buff myself I can guarantee ‘The Star’ will be giving you a fantastic feel good buzz just in time for Christmas.”
Morrisons Community Champion, Alison Whitburn said: “We are really looking forward to being part of this community event and contributing with some festive cheer.”
‘The Star’ is from the makers of 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' and you can watch the trailer and find more details here: http://www.allsaintswick.org.uk/thestar
