Town Show Community Marquee

Excellent family entertainment, superb performances and high-quality stalls are some of the fantastic things on offer at the Town Show & Family Fun Day on Saturday 8th September, from noon to 5pm.

The popular event held at Rosemead Park organised by Littlehampton Town Council and the Town Show Committee returns for its 16th year and is undoubtedly one of the biggest community celebrations in the Town calendar.

This year’s event is sure to appeal to visitors of all ages. Crowds can enjoy live music from the Gangsters ultimate ska tribute act and the Broken Box Band as well as performances from local community groups including the Sussex Tornados.

The ever-popular free Dog Show, organised by the Littlehampton Dog Training Club returns - with categories including Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Best Veteran- Over 7 and Best Rescue Dog.

Teams from the Littlehampton Organisation of Community Arts and Arun Youth Projects will also be on site with their chill out zone and youth tent, whilst younger children can enjoy inflatables and activities throughout the day.

The Horticultural and Craft Show organised by the Town Show Committee promises to please as ever with hundreds of exhibits including everything from an array of vegetables and stunning flowers to outstanding skills in the handicraft section. A list of categories and entry form is available from the Town Council’s office until Wednesday 5th September.

This year the stage will also be home to the Garden and Allotments Competition awards ceremony. Littlehampton’s keen gardeners will be presented with their trophies and commendations for their hard work earlier in the summer.

The bustling Community Marquee will feature over 50 different groups offering a range of information about their services as well as the chance to buy a variety of items and win prizes.

The Town Show Food Court is sure to please with stalls from local caterers including Thai Taste Catering, Dal Fuoco pizzas, ice cream from Pinks Vintage and the Lions Club beer tent.

Speaking about the extensive event programme, Chair of the Community Resources Committee, Councillor Ian Buckland said: “The Town Show & Family Fun Day is an excellent community celebration with plenty of things for everyone to see and do; there are more stands, performances and entertainment than ever so make sure you tell your family and friends to come along and have fun.”
