Children and Young People welcome to “SPACE”

Littlehampton Town Council is delighted to announce that through its “SPACE” Grants programme it will be supporting a number of sports and arts activities for young people this Summer.

Applications were made to the Council earlier in the year with three groups succeeding in receiving grants to support the provision of holiday activities for children and young people.

Littlehampton Organisation for Contemporary Arts will be running three sessions with the funds obtained from the Council as part of its Love Festival. They are:

Arts in the Courtyard on Saturday 21st, 12 - 4pm, in Evans Garden, Chalk at the Pebbles on Tuesday 24th, 4 - 7pm by Littlehampton Pier and a family Picnic on the Green on Wednesday 25th, 6 - 8pm, at the Town Council’s Stage by the Sea. All events are free and open to all.

Littlehampton Howard Lawn Tennis will be running free sessions from Monday 30th July to Wednesday 1st August, 2 – 3.30pm, at the Sportsfield, St Floras Road for children aged 5 to 15 years old. No booking required but if you need more details contact the Coach, Stewart on 07716 278328

Littlehampton Badminton & Squash Club is using its grant to offer heavily discounted squash sessions, for 8 to 17 years old from Tuesday 28th August to Friday 31st August, 9.30 – 12.30pm, at Littlehampton Badminton & Squash Club, Sparks Court. The sessions cost £5 each or four for £15 and booking is essential via the Club on 01903 713217.

Cllr Ian Buckland Chair of the Community Resources Committee said “SPACE Grants are a great opportunity for local clubs and groups to reach out to young people and encourage them to try something new. We hope that as many children and young people as possible will benefit from the fun activities these three community groups have organised for this Summer.”
