Sports Forum

What is the Sports Forum

The Sports Forum is supported by Littlehampton Town Council and aims to act as an advisory, consultative and co-ordinating body with Sport England, Sussex County Sport Partnership, sports clubs, schools, and other interested organisations in the town. The Sports Forum is made up of representatives from local clubs and sports providers and it offers members the opportunity to share information and express their views on current sporting issues. Notes of its meetings are included within the Agenda of the following Community Resources Committee.

How do I join?

The Forum is open to the public and there are no restrictions to the number of members. New members are always welcome. Please email to express your interest in joining.

All meetings held at 18:00 at the Manor House. The dates for 2024 are still to be confirmed.

The Sports Forum is also responsible for the annual Sports Awards. Clubs, coaches and family members of sportspeople are given the opportunity to nominate them for these awards.

Nominations for 2024 closed on Monday 11 March 2024.

The Sports Awards are aligned with the town’s Merit Awards within the Annual Town Meeting. This places all of the town’s annual awards under the same banner whilst giving local sports a much wider audience and greater exposure.

The next Annual Town Meeting will take place on Thursday 25 April 2024.

You can see the winners for the 2022 Sports Awards in our News section.

These are a range of Financial Awards focused on those either already achieving, or who have the potential to achieve, sporting excellence. Applications open once a year and are available for local residents.

The Sports Excellence Grants for 2023 were shared between three sportspeople: Sienna Marodeen for gymnastics, Grace Bennett for skateboarding and Héctor Hall for tennis, enabling them to progress in their sports and achieve their goals. You can read more here.
