Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
NJC Scale 5 / SCP 12-17 (depending on experience)
£28,598 - £31,022 per annum
£14.87 - £16.13 per hour
Littlehampton Town Council is seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer to manage specific and appropriate aspects of projects and initiatives from inception to successful execution, working under direction of the Senior Management Team.
The post holder will work in a varied and fast paced environment, closely collaborating with staff, councillors and key partners to develop, manage and deliver allocated projects identified as priorities by the Town council, in line with the Council’s Business Plan, Strategies and Policies.
This role includes the following key tasks:
• Managing the various strands of activity related to the set up and establishment of new projects, including research and stake holder engagement. Projects range from new facilities or service development through to policy reviews.
• Providing administrative support to projects, organising meetings, creating agendas and minutes, and writing/editing reports
• Developing KPI’s to monitor and measure project progress and success, including timelines and milestones
• Risk assessing projects and developing work plans to mitigate project slippage at every stage
• Liaising with suppliers, contractors and other external parties
• Assisting with the coordination of public engagement and consultation on allocated projects.
• Preparing reports and attending committee meetings to discuss reports and action items (occasional evening work required)
Exceptional communication and ICT skills are essential as well as proven project management experience to ensure the role is undertaken successfully. The successful applicant will need to be able to work effectively as part of a small team, build collaborative relationships with partners and stakeholders and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously. They must be able to work on their own initiative, prioritise effectively to meet deadlines, and respond positively to complex and unexpected problems.

Facilities and Contracts Manager

£31,537 - £33,699 per annum
£16.39 - £17.52 per hour
Littlehampton Town Council is looking for an exceptional candidate to fulfil the extensive role of Facilities and Contracts Manager. The post holder will be in a varied and fast paced environment and will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Council’s assets and related contracts, overseeing the facilities team whilst ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
This involves some of the following:
• Managing and maintaining the Council’s buildings, allotments, parks, open spaces and associated amenities.
• Leading and developing a team of facilities staff including amenity officers, caretakers and maintenance personnel.
• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety legislation, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
• Overseeing building systems maintenance (fire alarms, emergency lighting, lifts, HVAC, security)
• Managing procurement, contracts and relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Acting as emergency callout contact and key holder (including evenings and weekends)
• Budget monitoring and project management for asset development.
• Managing insurance matters and landlord/tenant relations.
Exceptional communication, organisational and ICT skills are vital to ensure the role is undertaken effectively. The successful applicant will need excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, asset management experience, strong contract management skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. They must be able to work on their own initiative as well as being committed to team working.
