SPACE - normally held in August
LTC carried out a full review of its SPACE scheme which highlighted that participation had been declining in recent years despite a variety of improvements to the range of sessions on offer. The Council identified that there are many other summer schemes running locally which are very successful these include the Inspire Leisure summer holidays’ activities. Having taken all the findings into consideration the Council will be offering local sports Clubs and organisations with an opportunity to apply for funding (January 2016) to run sessions with the same aims as SPACE. This means that sessions open to local children will be available from independent organisations in the summer of 2016. The Council will be promoting these on behalf of the organisations via its website and social media channels.
