Greening Campaign

Littlehampton has joined the Greening Campaign!

The Greening Campaign is a nationwide initiative set up in response to the threat of climate change. It is an innovative idea to help motivate people to reduce their energy consumption and therefore lower their personal and community carbon footprint.

Who are we?

The first Greening Littlehampton meeting was in January 2009, during which a voluntary committee was formed comprising local residents and Town councillors.

The Greening Littlehampton campaign is supported by the Town Council.

greeninglittlehamptonFurther details about the campaign can be found at http://www.greening-littlehampton.co.uk/

What do we do?

  • Motivate local residents to reduce their energy consumption
  • Calculate the community’s carbon footprint
  • Research the effect that climate change has on Littlehampton and explore solutions to protect the local environment

How will we do this?

Co-ordinate a fun, community-based campaign, which sets simple energy saving challenges.

Who gets involved?

Everyone!

  • Local residents
  • Community groups including Scouts, Age Concern, local churches, youth clubs
